This is not a "how to" book. Dr. Parker begins with a thorough - yet clear - discussion of Aikido as it was envisioned by the founder of the art, Morihei Ueshiba. She then sets forth a working definition of harmony. But, ultimately, Dr. Parker is not interested in setting forth "how to" make harmony with others. She focuses, rather, on what gets in our way; she focuses on the roadblocks, rather than the road. In the process, she sheds light on some of the questions that arise as we attempt to re-establish harmony within ourselves. She also covers some of the questions that arise as we attempt to manifest the principles of Aikido (love and harmony) in our interactions with others.
